NWFIA Membership ApplicationThe Northwest Check Investigators Association was founded in 1929 by ten ardent law enforcement officers who saw the possibility of curbing the ever increasing problem of bad check passing. The Association membership includes experienced investigators in all levels of law enforcement, banking and business; all working together in an effort to stop this million dollar racket. Information about “bad paper”, stolen credit cards, wanted persons and fraud is shared at each of the meetings by means of reports and visual aids. The Association’s purpose is to secure the full cooperation of all those interested in the location, apprehension, prosecution and conviction of all persons defrauding the public by means of passing forged, bogus or worthless checks and/or documents. On October 21, 1989, the name of the Association was changed to the Northwest Fraud Investigators Association to reflect the expanded responsibilities of our members. The Association is governed by an Executive board composed of the most recent Past President, current President, five vice-president’s, Secretary and Treasurer.
