NWFIA ConferencesThe Northwest Fraud Investigator's Association offers two conferences each year. These conferences are held in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia (Canada). Any NWFIA member or their agency/business may host a conference. The conferences are designed to keep the membership up-to-date on new fraud trends as well as investigative strategy and techniques. The Fall Conference is generally held in September or October and the Spring Conference in April or May. The conference venue rotates through the participating states/provinces: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia. If you are thinking about hosting an NWFIA conference, please feel free to contact any member of the Executive Board. You can also check out the Conference Manual on-line. This is a fantastic manual (originally produced by Past President Lisa Barrong and recently updated by our own President Doug Jordan) is a step-by-step guide on how to put on a successful NWFIA conference. Information about specific investigations, wanted persons and fraud in general is shared at each of the conferences. This is a tremendous opportunity to network with fellow investigators. The Association's purpose is to secure the full cooperation of all those interested in the location, apprehension, prosecution and conviction of persons defrauding the public. Members may bring guests to the conferences, but in view of the confidential nature of the information discussed, it is urged that discretion be exercised.
